Went again tonight to Lorain Co. Airport with Dave Dvorak and Linda Sekura.
We started off seeing a nice pair of kestrels right next to a small flock of
starlings near Butternut Ridge and West Ridge Rds. Then we saw a group of
maybe 100 ring-billed gulls, with a few killdeers mixed in, and about 7 herring
gulls not too far away. Not too bad a start.
Here's what we saw at the airport;
6 rough legged hawks of both color morphs, one pair displaying courting
behaviors.
1 RTH
1 golden eagle
10+ killdeer
10+ horned larks
1 kestrel
many starlings
4 grackles
many mourning doves
2 N harriers also displaying some courting behaviors
3 short eared owls right after sunset flying together over the runway
All in all, a great evening!
