I went to the newer section of Darby Creek Park last night to check and see
what was at the feeders. They were empty, so there was not much going on. I
walked up along the ridge by the feeders and looked down into where the
water had come up. There I saw 3 wood ducks: a male, female, and a third one
that flew before I could get a glimpse of what it was. How beautiful!! My
first sightings of wood ducks. I did encounter a tufted titmouse who kept
yelling at me. I must have been close to a nesting area. When I moved away
he stopped.
Lots of red-winged blackbirds in the area, as well. Hanging on their
favorite weeds and just singing for the springtime!!!
