Hello from the Lake Erie Islands! Spring is here on the North Coast of Ohio. Since Sunday afternoon, we have been feeding a small flock of 10-15 Redwing Blackbirds. Especially since the heavy ice and snow hit last evening, they are voracious eaters, chasing away all the regulars. Also seen this past Sunday thru Tuesday were 3 turkey vultures (one on Sunday, and two on Tuesday), a very large flock of crows flying over on Sunday (we estimated about 80-100). There are many that have remained here on Catawba Island, we had a flock of about 20-25 in the trees this morning. But what a thrill to hear the RW Blackbirds singing!
