I was scouting grids for the OBBA II and made a few stops along Alum Creek Reservoir this morning. In general, the ducks were few and scattered and consisted mostly of Ring-necks, Scaup and Red-breasted mergansers along with two Horned grebes.

One hi-lite was at the Chesire Road bridge, where an adult male Surf scoter was observed from the Chesire boat ramp.

I continued up to Hogback Road at the Osprey platforms where a single adult Osprey was observed placing sticks on Platform 4. Looks like the resident bird has made it back! There were no bands on the legs of this bird.
