Hello All...

Saw either a Tree or Barn Swallow and a Kestrel for the first time in 2008 today. Also saw the bird I think is a Northern Harrier. All at my rural home.
PLUS my neighbor (whose home is deep in an opening in woods) tells me so far this year they have seen:
      downy woodpecker
  white breasted nuthatch
  red bellied woodpecker
  red winged blackbird
  dark eyed junco
  northern cardinal
  bluejay
  pileated woodpecker
  canadian goose
  tufted titmouse
  american robin
  eastern bluebird
  black capped chickadee
  towhee
  red tailed hawk
  crow
  wren (voice)

Sure hope 2008 is a great year for the BBS.
