SPRING IS AROUND THE CORNER! It may not look like it outside, due to the
recent winter snow storm, but the annual rite of spring we faithfully rely
on is happening this weekend!
Once again the Annual Return of the Buzzards is gaining local and national
attention. On Thursday, March 13 at 10 a.m. the Annual Return of the
Buzzards was featured on FOX-8 "That's Life" with the Robin Swoboda. And,
on Sunday, March 16 the Annual Return of the Buzzards will be featured
nationally on CBS Sunday Morning Show at 9 a.m. If you're interested and
would like to show your buzzard and Cleveland pride nationally - help
cheer on the return of the buzzards on Saturday, March 15 beginning at 7
a.m. Bill Giest, correspondent on the CBS Sunday Morning Show will be
taping the return and interviewing local buzzard fans as we celebrate this
internationally-known event!

Buzzard spotters, young and old alike, will search the sky for turkey
vultures with the "Official Buzzard Spotter," Dr. Bob Hinkle. The search
begins at 7 a.m. Visitors are encouraged to bring binoculars, cameras and
a sense of humor. Like the buzzards, visitors have been returning to
witness their arrival since the first Buzzard Sunday in 1957. Naturalists
will also be on hand answer questions and share stories from bygone
"buzzard days."

Help us cheer on the buzzards on their annual return to Hinckley at
Buzzard Sunday! on March 16th from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Buzzard
Roost in Hinckley Reservation. The free event features a buzzard
scoreboard, naturalist-led hikes, live bird programs, musical
entertainment, storytelling, displays and exhibits, kids Buzzard Bingo
games, and bus tours of Hinckley Reservation. Plus, buzzard-related
merchandise and refreshments to purchase, and more!
Buzzard Roost is located at the corner of State Road and West Drive in
Hinckley Reservation in HinckleyTownship.
