Today (Sat 3/15) at 3:30 the upground Wellington Reservoir had a large
area, close to the parking lot, of open water. Seen today:
Scaup, Redheads, Blue-winged Teal, Pintail, one Red-necked Grebe,
Buffleheads, Canvasbacks, and Coot. The Snowy Owl that had been seen
there earlier in the day was not found.
This large, easy access water reservoir is an excellent place to view
migrating water fowl as the only open water is near to the boat ramp
parking lot. The entrance is on Jones Rd., about a mile west of St. Rt.
58, south side of Wellington.
