This evening on a bird walk at Sandy Ridge (Lorain Co.) with Tim Fairweather we saw one, and possibly two, northern shrikes. One was in the corner of the impoundments with the most dead trees, just as you leave the woods, and the other sighting was 90 min later in the treeline bisecting the fields by the entrance road. Could have been the same bird.

Other interesting sightings were a great horned owl on her nest and two red-headed woodpeckers. Very few ducks; most of the water is still ice-covered.
