An unexpected 4 species of shorebirds were observed today at the Hardin Co. wetlands. They included:

Killdeer 17
Am. Woodcock 1
Common Snipe 2
Pectoral Sandpiper 9 2 weeks earlier than last year

Also there are unbelievable numbers of Lapland Longspurs on CH112 in Northern Wyandot Co. I estimate over 1,000 inds. this evening along with 2 Tundra Swans and large numbers of pintail and Canadian Geese.

Rick Counts
Wyandot Co.
