I went to the power plant in Eastlake Sunday afternoon and was surprised the gates were opened. The lake looked pretty frozen up there were two openings - one to the east by the Chagrin River but it was hard to see. To the west there were many ducks by the west breakwall. I couldn't find anything unusual but did see some variety. Here is a list of what I saw:

  Hooded Mergansers - 37+
  American Wigeon 2 m & f
  Horned Grebes 7+
  Pied-billed Grebes 1
  Canvasbacks 15 or more
Lesser Scaup (few Greater) 50 or more of both
  Redheads 25+
  D.C. Cormorants 2
Goldeneye, A. Coots, R.B. Mergansers, Buffleheads, GB Heron
  Mockingbird 1 (on Erie St
  Great Black-backed Gulls, Herring & Ring-billed
