Karin Tanquist and I had a quick but productive stop at the beaver pond
at the Towpath Trail at the Ira Trailhead in the CVNP last evening.
There were 10 species of waterfowl, including a nice collection of a
dozen Hooded Mergansers. It was also good to see the Tree Swallows back.
Highlights below.

1-Tundra Swan
5-Wood Duck
2-American Black Duck
10+Mallard
2-Blue-winged Teal
5-Ring-necked Duck
2-Lesser Scaup
5-Bufflehead
12-Hooded Merganser
40+Canada Goose
1- Red-Shouldered Hawk
Tree Swallows
