Went for a hike at Big Creek Park today.. Pretty quite bird wise but a nice day to be out. Went into the visitor center after our walk; the feeders had 4 pine siskins and 2 redpolls. Our feeder here at home still has a lone redpoll visiting it. Yesterday, on 3/1 after our supper at one of our favorite wineries, we continued out to Middlefield. On Hayes Rd. and vicinity, we had 7 Rough-legged Hawks, 2 Short-eared owls, 1 immature Bald Eagle and 2 flocks of Snow Buntings ( 30+ each flock). The Eagle put on quite a show harassing the Short-eared owl.
