There is high water level at Caesar Creek which makes for scattered waterfowl. From as close as I could get to the flooded beach I saw a huge group of Coots along with
9 Horned Grebes, 1 Pied-billed Grebe and 4 Scaup Sp. The end of Harveysburg Road is under water and I found nothing there. However, the ponds near the observation platform are high and will undoubtedly attract more ducks. Today one had 3 Blue-winged Teal and two Hooded Mergansers, the other had a pair of female Buffleheads. I am sure there were lots of other species around the lake but my time was limited.
Happy Birding Cheers, Larry Gara, Wilmington
