With a nice afternoon, I visited two sites where the suburb of Dublin edges up against rural fields & marshes. One was Darree Fields, a local park with a swamp woodlot, meadows, and several flooded fields. The other was the Honda wetland at Glacier Ridge MetroPark. Both places had lots of water, so they had lots of puddle ducks. Highlights included

Dabbling Ducks - good numbers, especially at the Honda Wetlands. Large numbers of Mallards, along with wigeon, shovelers, green- & blue-winged teal, and a few Gadwall.

Diving Ducks - fewer, since these wetlands weren't deep, but there were plenty of Ring-necked Ducks and a few Buffleheads

Shorebirds - Kildeer at both places, while a big flooded field at the intersection of Cosgray & Shier-Rings Rd had 7 Greater Yellowlegs (along with plenty of the abovementioned ducks)

Raptors - Harrier and Red-tails at the Honda Wetlands

Other birds - plenty of grackles & redwings at both spots, but no Rusty Blackbirds in the swamp woodlot at Darree Fields.
