An errand took me on a rare trip west of Cleveland today, so I made a stop at the Carlisle Reservation (part of the Lorain County Metroparks). They've got some great feeder watching there. I saw two redpolls on the bag niger feeder right away. They built to a high count of four at the feeder. At one time a group of six or seven passed through the trees at the back of the feeder lot.

Additionally, I relocated the Northern Shrike on Whitney Rd just west of West Rd. near Caley Reservation. There is a strip of spread manure on the south side of the road about a half mile or more west of West Rd. The bird is a ways off the road and looking south does not make for ideal viewing conditions mid day. There were no lingering snow buntings at time of my visit.
