The warm weather is bringing different migrants everyday here on South
Bass Island. Two days ago at the Lighthouse, there was a flock of about 20
Chipping Sparrows and one Savannah Sparrow working the ground.
This morning there was a Rufous-sided Towhee outside my window at home.
Early morning, there were also White-throated Sparrows in addition to the
abundant Chipping Sparrows and four Wood Ducks in a tree in the DeRivera
Park downtown.
About 20 Turkey Vultures lifted off from a roosting location near the Put-
in-Bay airport and 4 Eastern Meadowlarks flew off from a field across from
the airport as well.
