Saturday, April 19:
I wasn't able to make my way to Conneaut until late afternoon (3:00 pm).
During the brief time I was there, no raptor sightings (in response to a
previous post).
The only birds of note were (50+) Caspian Terns, a pair of B.W. Teal and
several Coots.
Malek Park had 2 Meadowlarks and (20+) W. Snipe.
A small pond and wooded area closer to home turned up more birds,
including:
Wood Duck, P.B. Grebe, R.C. Kinglet, B. Creeper, Y.B. Sapsucker, B.
Thrasher, B-G Gnatcatcher,
Palm Warber, Y-Rumped Warbler, House Wren, Chipping & Field Sparrows.
Sunday, April 20:
Black Scoter still present at Ashtabula Mall along with a single C. Loon.
Lake Shore Park had small numbers of R.B. Mergansers & Buffleheads
and (100+) Cormorants along the breakwall.
