There are two owl nests.  One is in the woods on the walk down, is very 
difficult to see at a long range off to the right.

The second is much easier.  It is on the back side of the pond on your 
right as you enter the pond field.  If you go around the pond counter 
clockwise it will be visible to your right.  The easiest thing is if you 
get to the wooden boardwalk and don't see it, turn around and look to your 
left where the trail turns.  The nest probably isn't as big as you would 
expect for a Great Horned Owl. 

The Northern Shrike is usually seen in the bushy area over the marsh 
across the trail near the owl nest.  There doesn't seem to be a favored 
spot.  You're going to need a little luck and hopefully be there at the 
right time.
