Hey all -

From about 11:00-1:15, there was a decent hawk
movement past Lorain Harbor. Birds seen:

Turkey Vulture 257
Osprey 1
Sharp-shinned Hawk 3
Cooper's Hawk 5
Red-shouldered Hawk 9
Red-tailed Hawk 17
Rough-legged Hawk 2 (1 light, 1 dark)
American Kestrel 1
Merlin 1

Also ~75 Tree Swallows, 4 Eastern Phoebes, and a
flyover loon.

I began the morning at E. 72nd St. Robins were moving
in abundance - I counted 286 in a short time.
Mourning Doves were also moving in good numbers
throughout the day. A couple hundred Bonies were on
the water, but I detected none different.

Avon Lake pier had common waterfowl and 15 Great Blue
Herons.

At Lorain, I also birded the impoundment. The areas
that were so good for sparrowing last fall, now
contain standing water. There were some waterfowl
present, including 3 Blue-winged and 14 Green-winged
Teal. This area could be promising for shorebirds or
the odd heron/ibis, depending on what the water levels
do.

Good birding -
