Fox sparrows have been present at my home in northwest Hocking County for
30 consecutive todays. Today(April 5)there were six which tied the
previous high on March 25. Purple finches are still here and have been
since December 5. The male pine warbler which arrived on
March 7 started singing about ten days ago and now a female is also
present. The first phoebe arrived today. Last year the first one arrived
on March 11 and two years ago the arrival date was March 10. The previous
latest arrival date was March 29.
