four (4) long-eared owls were found at headlands beach state park this morning (04/07/2008). two (2) remained in to the early afternoon at eye level in shrubbery just north of the parking lot and two (2) were flushed in the morning from along the fisherman's path. a one o'clock search yielded the two long-eared owls north of the parking lot and one skittish long-ear in shrubbery just west of the fisherman's path. a mid-morning walk in to the dunes yielded a short-eared owl which flushed up and drifted toward the lighthouse.
