The Columbus Audubon field trips to these two migrant traps today was blessed with great weather and fair birding. Diversity of birds was decent for late May, but numbers were scant, and we had to work forr most of what we found. Highlights included:

Yellow-billed cuckoos - 2 heard at the Confluence area of 3-Creeks

Flycatchers - all the expected empidonax, including Yellow-bellied at both 3-Creeks and Greenlawn cemetery. Several Pewees and Great Cresteds at both sites.

Vireos - abundant Red-eyed Vireos, plus Yellow-throated at both sites

Thrushes - singing Wood Thrush at 3-Creeks; 6-7 Swainsons hopping around the Ridge at the cemetery

Warblers - 11 species, with Redstarts the most common. Others included Prothonotary (3-Creeks), Parula (heard 3-Creeks), Yellow, Nashville (heard), Tennessee, Chesnut-sided, Magnolia, Black-thr.Green, Yellow-throated, Common Yellowthroat (3-Creeks)

Tanagers - Scarlet at both sites, but more unusual was a singing Summer at the Confluence area of 3-Creeks (a place where they're quite rare)

Rose-br.Grosbeaks - 2 singing at the cemetery.
Indigo Buntings - singing birds at every location

Orioles - several Baltimores and 1 Orchard at 3-Creeks
