Shaune Skinner and I spent the last 2 days in Hocking County, mostly on area
wetlands owned by the Wayne National Forest.  We went in search of the
Mississippi Kite both days to no avail but did see a large group of Common
Nighthawks in its territory.  Our sightings:

Rutherford Wetland (on SR 278 N. of Carbon Hill; 5-25-08):  Green Heron,
Great Blue Heron, Common Yellowthroat, Yellow Warbler, Warbling Vireo,
White-eyed Vireo, Red-eyed Vireo, Eastern Towhee, Baltimore Oriole (M & F),
Red-bellied WP, Downy WP, Tree Swallow, Godldfinch, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher,
Cedar Waxwing, Eastern Kingbird, Eastern Phoebe, Horned Grebe, Brown-headed
Cowbird, CArdinal, Robin, Mourning Dove, Crow, Grackle, Chickadee, Tufted
Titmouse, Turkey Vulture, Red-winged Blackbird, Carolina Wren, & Gray
Catbird

Greendale Wetland (on SR 595 N. of 278/595 intersection; 5-25-08):  Great
Crested Flycatcher, Phoebe, Prothonotary Warbler, Yellow Warbler, Common
Yellowthroat, White-eyed Vireo, Red-eyed Vireo, Eastern Wood-Pewee, Tree
Swallows (2 in nest), Eastern Towhee, Hooded Merganser (fem w/ 5 young),
Wood Duck (2 fem w/ 6 young each), Wood Thrush, Green Heron, Great Blue
Heron, Downy WP, Pileated WP, House Wren, Baltimore Oriole, Red-tailed Hawk,
Bluebird, Gray Catbird, Red-winged Blackbird, Chickadee, & Grackle

Tanksy's Marsh (on 93 W. of New Straitsville; 5-25-08):  American Redstart
(M & F), Great-crested Flycatcher, Eastern Phoebe, Blue-winged Warbler,
Eastern Wood-pewee, Red & White-eyed Vireo, Yellow Warbler, Cedar Waxwing (1
feeding young), Great Blue Heron, Green Heron, Wood Duck (M & F w/ 6 young),
Horned Grebe, Pheasant, Ruby-throated Hummingbird, Song Sparrow, Gray
Catbird, Tufted Titmouse, Chickadee, & Red-winged Blackbird

Brass Ring Golf Course (just off US 33 at SR 328 exit; 5-25-08):  30 Common
Nighthawks, Scarlet Tanager, Wild Turkey, Chimney Swifts, Tree Swallow,
Northern Mockingbird, Eastern Phoebe, Eastern Wood-pewee, & Cedar Waxwing

Lake Logan (5-26-08):  Yellow-throated Vireo, Red-eyed Vireo, Warbling Vireo
(building nest), Common Yellowthroat, Yellow Warbler, House Wren, Bluebird
(juvenile), Baltimore Oriole, Orchard Oriole, Savannah Sparrow, Great Blue
Heron, Green Heron, Great Egret, Terns (unknown type), Belted Kingfisher,
Scarlet Tanager, Mute Swan, Mallard (fem w/ 4 young), Barn Swallow,
Rough-winged Swallow, Tree Swallow, Red-bellied WP, Pileated WP, Eastern
Towhee, Gray Catbird, Robin, Cardinal, Turkey Vulture, Grackle, Crow, &
Red-winged Blackbird
