Observers: Paula Lozano & Jan Ranahan

Although it was a bit chilly, we decided to eat outside and were treated to
the sights and sounds of the following birds:

Ruby-throated hummingbird - 1, male; in the flowering quince
Downy woodpecker - 1, male; at suet feeder
Blue jay - 8; in tree tops
Red-breasted nuthatch - 1, female; at sunflower seed feeder
Ruby-crowned kinglet - 1, in silver maple
Hermit thrush - 1, on ground
Gray catbird - 1, under quince
Palm warbler - 1, on ground
Black-and-white warbler - 1, male; in pin oak
Chipping sparrow - 2, under feeders
Savannah sparrow - 1, in pin oak
Lincoln Sparrow - 1, behind garage
Swamp sparrow - 1, under feeders
White-throated sparrow - 6, under feeders
White-crowned sparrow - at least 6, under feeders (singing in other yards,
too)
Rose-breasted grosbeak - 1, male; at sunflower feeder
