Many thanks to Suzanne for spotting the Blue Grosbeak. I went there after
supper, about 7:30pm, and saw the bird right away (I stood near the entrance
doors of to the nature center looking toward the feeders. The bird came
into the low bushes to the right of the feeders about 20 feet away and
stayed there while I snapped several blurry images (I had to use manual
focus and the light was fading). NEW LIFE BIRD! Here is a ling to the few
usable images http://picasaweb.google.com/mvalencic/ImmBlueGrosbeak

Thanks again! Off to Crane Creek in the morning for all the craziness!

Subject: [Ohio-birds] Blue Grosbeak - Geauga Cty

An immature Blue Grosbeak has been frequenting the feeders at the Nature
Center at West Woods (Rte. 87 between 306 and 44). It is a very
cooperative
bird and has been seen since Wednesday. I saw it today, Friday, as it
repeatedly returned to the feeder area for phenomenal studies. The color
combinations on this bird are exceptionally lovely!
