I found a Scissor-tailed Flycatcher in the prairie field below the C.J.
Brown Dam in Clark County today (Mother's Day). I glimpsed it at about
12:15 p.m. as I was driving by the prairie on Overlook Drive. I did a
triple take and braked hard, and had to back up to see what it was for
sure.

After my heart rate doubled, I did a u-turn to get the little camera
from my office. (It's supposed to rain all day, I won't need to bring my
good camera to work today...) Aaarrgh.
I got some blurry but diagnostic shots, then got in touch with Larry
Jeanblanc who came quick and got some better photos.

2 birders I didn't know stopped in the Visitor Center at 1:00 and I told
them immediately. They went right down and couldn't find it. Larry
told them he lost sight of it at about 12:45. I stopped at 2:30 and
talked to the two guys, who had called four other folks by that time,
but the bird was nowhere to be found. I scanned the field at 4:15 as I
was driving home, but couldn't find it.

I posted two of Larry's photos on the OOS forum for him here:

I will keep my eyes peeled tomorrow and report if I see it again.
