WHAT: Grassland Bird Workshop
WHEN: Saturday, June 14
WHERE: West Chester, Ohio
COST: $10 (includes lunch)

On Saturday, June 14, The Conservation Partnership for the VOA Grasslands will present a workshop focusing on grasslands and grassland birds. The workshop is sponsored by Audubon Ohio and MetroParks of Butler County with funding from the Dornette Foundation of Cincinnati.

Speakers include Jon Granville, Executive Director of Metroparks of Butler County; Dr. Danny Ingold of Muskingum College (doing grassland bird research at The Wilds); David Nolin, Director of Conservation with Five Rivers Metroparks; Dr. Joseph Robb, Refuge Manager at Big Oaks National Wildlife Refuge in Indiana with a tremendous population of Henslow's Sparrows; Paul Wharton, an American Kestrel enthusiast; and Jeff Brown of the Conservation Partnership for the VOA grasslands. Members of the Cincinnati Bird Club will lead a field trip to observe Bobolinks, Henslow's Sparrows, and other grassland birds at the Voice of America grasslands.

The workshop kicks off with refreshments and the VOA field trip at 7:30 a.m. For those not able to make the morning field trip, we will reconvene at 9:30 a.m. for the presentations. The presentations end at 2:15 p.m. to be followed by an optional afternoon field trip.

The workshop will be held at the Voice of America Park Lodge, a MetroPark of Butler County, 7850 VOA Park Drive, West Chester Township, Ohio. The VOA is about 20 miles north of Cincinnati at Exit 22 on I-75.

Registration, refreshments, lunch, and a workshop folder are all included in the workshop registration fee of $10. The registration is due by June 10. Please make checks payable to Audubon Ohio at 692 N. High St., Suite 303, Columbus, OH 43215. Call 614-224-3303 or email [log in to unmask] for further information.
