There was a single male EVENING GROSBEAK in my North Perry yard this
evening. It was actively feeding on tree buds in the tops of the trees in
the small area of woods just west of my house. It also did quite a bit of
calling making it easy to find. This was around 7:00. I was unable to
locate it later. It did not visit my feeders at all. The feeders were
interesting however with 2 pine siskins, 2 purple finches and two pair of
red-breasted nuthatches. With the various "winter birds" and temperatures
in the upper 40's, it didn't seem like the last half of May.
