Many bank swallows and at least one BLACK TERN remain at Springfield Lake. If you need an excuse to bird Springfield, the gas prices around E Waterloo(US 224) and Canton Rd(OH 91) are consistently among the lowest in Akron.

While at the south end of Nimisila (Jones Rd), THIRTY-ONE common terns came from the southeast rather abruptly. They stayed put at the north end of the lake long enough for me to drive up there and then headed over, I assumed, to Turkeyfoot. However, by the time I drove over there---I tarried to listen to Ravi Zacharias on the radio---they were not there. They didn't seem to be feeding while at Nimisila so as far as I know they continued on. I had 22 common terns at Nimisila on 5/12/07.

Peace,
Gregory Bennett
