After reading Jim McCormac's posting about at least one of the
Mississippi kites
returning to the Brass Ring Golf Course in Hocking County, I went there
to Keller
Road from which most birders saw the birds last year as noted in Jim's
posting.
The location is a half mile north of Rt. 328 near the end of the split
rail fence. I saw
one kite over the tree line to the west and also heard the call two
times. It is very
similar to the call of the broad-winged hawk. I saw the kite at about
4:15 - 4:30
this afternoon(Tuesday, May 20).
