There was a fantastic movement of birds here in my North Perry yard this
morning. this was the first good movement of birds here where I was
actually at home. There was one of the strongest movement of cedar waxwings
that I can remember. Between 6:30 and 8:15 I counted a little over 1,300.
There was a thunderstorm at 8:15 and after that the numbers slowed down a
bit. My final tally for the morning was over 1,700 waxwings. Another group
strongly represented were flycatchers. I saw all of the regular Ohio
species except alder flycatcher. There were two OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHERS and
3 yellow-bellied flycatchers. The species that was in amazing numbers was
eastern kingbird. I counted at least 174 passing kingbirds. Many passed by
in groups of 2-5. I also had 18 species of warblers. Warblers of note were
northern parula, blackpoll warbler (18+), mourning warbler (3), and a
yellow-breasted chat.

This evening the male EVENING GROSBEAK made a brief appearance at my
feeders. Its getting late.
