Spencer--
There are lots of orioles that might look as if they have 'no black on
the head.' But there is a record of Altamira oriole from Ohio. The OSU
Museum has a specimen of a nice adult male from near Cedarville in
Greene County 13 May 1976. This was not accepted during later review as
a wild bird. All the same, some very odd oriole records--such as an
Audubon's in Indiana last year--are scattered across the region, and
have been accepted after review by local authorities. If this bird looks
good, get lots of good photos if you can!
