Hi folks,

It was a good birding day yesterday in Glen Helen.  We found 50 species
over our 3 hour walk in the north part of the Glen.  Mostly, we stuck to
the Inman Trail, with side jaunts out to Baldwin Pond and the Dingell
Dell.

Here's what the group found:
Great blue Heron
Turkey vulture
Canada goose
Mallard
Cooper's hawk
Red-shouldered hawk
Broad-winged hawk
Mourning dove
*Ruby-throated hummingbird
Red-bellied woodpecker
Downy woodpecker
Pileated woodpecker
Eastern phoebe
*Great crested flycatcher
*White-eyed vireo
*Yellow-throated vireo
Red-eyed vireo
Blue jay
American crow
*Tree swallow
*Northern rough-winged swallow
Carolina chickadee
Tufted titmouse
White-breasted nuthatch
Carolina wren
House wren
Blue-gray gnatcatcher
Ruby-crowned kinglet
Wood thrush
American robin (gathering nesting material)
Gray catbird
Yellow-rumped warbler
*Blackburnian warbler
Yellow-throated warbler (gathering nesting material)
*Palm warbler (flock of 4-6 birds)
Black and white warbler
Louisiana waterthrush
Common yellowthroat
Hooded warbler (great looks by Pompey's pillar)
Northern parula (great looks by the yellow spring grotto)
*Summer tanager
Scarlet tanager
Chipping sparrow
Field sparrow
Nothern cardinal
*Rose-breasted grosbeak
Indigo bunting
Red-winged blackbird
Common grackle
Brown-headed cowbird
American goldfinch
