>From what I have heard, the birds were seen from the Burr Oak State Park
Lodge area, from the lakeshore. One bird was seen and then shortly after
that, two birds were seen simultaneously and observed with optics on that
occasion - and the identification was confirmed. They were last seen
heading North (in my direction). I just returned home from all day
non-birding obligations, so I will be going out now to give a look for these
birds. Also, there is a spot or two around the North end of Burr Oak Lake
that could attract kites to nest so I will be heading out now to scrutinize
these areas. This is a huge area with limited access so re-finding these
birds, even if they are still around - could prove very challenging.

Subject: [Ohio-birds] Mississippi Kites - Burr Oak Lake

I received the following report in response to the last RBA:

> Misssissippi kites, a pair, sited at Burr Oak Lake at 11:00 am Sat June
21,
> 2008. Seen in great light, white patches in wings as it banked, light
head.

Burr Oak Lake is in Athens and Morgan Counties. I don't have any more
specific
information.

Good luck,
