I found a nesting pair in the "wild" - not at feeders, in one of my blocks.
I've seen several other individuals as I work on my Atlas blocks, at least
as many as I usually see away from feeders. I think that this year is a
great one for the birds. If you've noticed, at least here in Licking Co.,
the blooming trees, shrubs and flowers are the best they've been in years.
The winter wasn't cold enough to kill many of the insects, and I suspect
that the hummers are finding plenty to eat without having to go to feeders.
Good for them, but too bad for those of us who enjoy watching them at our
feeders. However, just wait until the youngsters are out on their own.
Then you'll have plenty of action at the feeders, I'll bet!

Has anyone else observed that the popultation RTH's has declined this
year?? Last year at this time we had a dozen, this year 4.
