Bill Bosstic and I went to check on the Black Rail at Charlie's Pond this morning..we where there at 5:50am-7am. A birder from Wheeling W.V. was already on the clock(he was there at 5:40)..sorry, I did not get your name. The Rail was still vocal...at one point coming up to 25ft. to us, but stayed hidden. All action was on the South side of the road again. There was one time I was sure there were 2-birds..as the calling points just seemed to far apart for the same bird to cover the distance..but after tracking its sound as it stalked around in there..it must walk fairly fast at times? Or, if it does short flights, we did not see it..

If you go, and do a careful pull-off.. do not trespass..and can wait a little.. anyone should get to hear this bird..and, no call was needed.

Before we left, 2 other birders had come in, One from Urbana, and the other on his way to work in Dublin.

Good luck everyone!
