SPECIES IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS ARE REVIEW-LIST SPECIES. Details of
these sightings are desired by The Ohio Bird Records Committee. Careful
observation, not ornithological expertise, is the only qualification
for submitting your data. For details and pointers see:
http://www.ohiobirds.org/records/documentation.php

Little Blue Heron: The previously reported adult at Detwiler [Marsh]
Park, Toledo, was seen again on the 2nd.

TRICOLORED HERON: The previously reported bird from near 1260 CR 308
between CR 205 and CR 219 northwest of Bellevue, Sandusky County, was
seen on the 2nd in an area of flooded fields. On the 5th, John
Pogacnick reported one from Blair Road in Perry Township, Lake County.
Presumably the same bird was reported the next day about a mile away at
Indian Point Park, Leroy Township, Lake County, where Paine Creek runs
into the Grand River.

REDDISH EGRET: Craig Holt observed one "dancing" at Conneaut on the
5th, but the bird flew shortly thereafter. If accepted, this would be a
first state record. Photographs are greatly desired.

Yellow-crowned Night-Heron: Two juveniles were with adults at the
Preston Road, Columbus, nest site on the 3rd.

BLACK RAIL: While setting a new Ohio Big Day record for June, the
"Quick Three Beards" team found one calling at Charlie's Pond along
Radcliffe Road in Pickaway County in the wee hours of the 1st. It was
still being heard on the 5th. A few people have managed sightings. For
directions see the Ohio Ornithological Website:
http://www.ohiobirds.org/birdingsites/showsite.php?Site_ID=44

Western Sandpiper: Craig Holt counted four immatures at Conneaut on the
3rd.

Laughing Gull: An adult was at the beach at Alum Creek State Park,
Delaware County, on the 3rd.

EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVES: On the 30th, Joe Hammond found a pair
copulating on a utility wire along Rte 53 just south of Fort Seneca.
The wire was across the road from a house numbered 5581. Another bird
in their company seemed to be a Ringed Turtle-Dove (African Collared-
Dove), a species not countable in Ohio.

Bell's Vireo: On the 30th, four were along the Heritage ["Bike"] Trail
in Hilliard, Franklin County. They were "northwest of Homestead Park,
between the park and a "2 mile" signpost". On the 1st, they were
reported from West Chester, Butler County, "along the bike trail at
Ellis Lake. The spot is roughly halfway between the Seward Road Parking
lot and the circular parking area on Firebird lane, off of Union Center
Blvd."

Olive-sided Flycatcher: Reported from the Magee Marsh Wildlife Area
boardwalk on the 30th.

Connecticut Warbler: Banded by the Black Swamp Bird Observatory at
Navarre Marsh, Ottawa County, on the 30th and 31st. Reported from North
Perry, Lake County, on the 3rd.

Western Meadowlark: On the 31st it was learned that there are two in
the Cygnet, Wood County, area: the previously reported bird from Range
Line and Cygnet Roads west of town, and a second bird on Cygnet Road
about a hundred yards east of Rock Ridge Road, just east of the edge of
town. Another was found in Williams County on the 4th, just south of
Lake Seneca along P50 Road near house number 8633.

Evening Grosbeak: The previously reported bird was seen again at North
Perry, Lake County, on the 3rd.
