SPECIES IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS ARE REVIEW-LIST
SPECIES. Details of these sightings are desired by
the Ohio Bird Records Committee. Careful
observation, not ornithological expertise, is the
only qualification for submitting your data. For
details and pointers see:

Eared Grebe - Becky C reports that 2 birds were found
on 6/11 on different ponds created by the flooding
around Bellevue. One bird was on a pond south of Hale
Rd, just east of CR 288. The other resided on a pond
south of the rail road tracks on CR 292 (this is the
second set of tracks south of SR 20).

Least Bittern - John Pogacnik heard one singing in the
marshes of the Arcola Creek Estuary on 6/10. This is
in extreme NW Lake county.

Yellow-Crowned Night-Heron - On 6/11 Alicia Elmer
alerted Jim McCormac to the presence of a single bird
on Norwalk Reservoir in Huron County. The bird has
been present since early May.

MISSISSIPPI KITE - Two birds were reported from
opposite sides of the state on 6/7. Chuck Anderson
saw one fly over SR 235 just N of Weston. Ethan
Kistler spotted one over Lake Kelso in Geauga County.

BLACK RAIL - The now famous birds are still being
found at Charlie's Pond on Radcliffe Road in Pickaway
County. The birds have changed to a pattern of
calling most actively early and late in the day,
likely due to the high temperatures of the past week.
The last person to report the birds was Marcia Brehmer
who caught a glimpse of one of the birds on 6/9.

Western Meadowlark - Chuck Anderson reports that a
bird was still present in Williams County on 6/11.
The location is a field in front of mailbox #8633 Rd
P50, about 1/2 of a mile east of Rd. 8.
