Hey guys, I have been looking for bluebirds in the wild. ( a.k.a. Not nesting in a box.)  Today I only had an hour so I went over to our local park.  I was rewarded with the site of a pair of bluebirds nesting in a tree by the parking lot.  Here is link to the OOS's Forum page that shows the pics:  Bluebirds on OOS's Forum.

It's in the Larue Community Park. On State Rt 37 just north of town.  Look for hole on the south side of tree near the top.  They like it if you stay about 50 feet off the tree.  I hid under the cottonwood tree that is nearby.  I can't really tell if they are nesting or feeding chicks, the female had some straw in her mouth at one point, so I am hoping that they are just to the nesting phase.  They are VERY protective of the site.  I saw them chase away a grackle  while I was there and one bird was always near while the other was off gathering material.
