SPECIES IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS ARE REVIEW-LIST SPECIES. Details of
these sightings are desired by The Ohio Bird Records Committee. Careful
observation, not ornithological expertise, is the only qualification
for submitting your data. For details and pointers see:

MISSISSIPPI KITE: Gabe Leidy saw an adult kite at the Brass Ring Gold
Course, Logan, on the 4th.

BLACK-NECKED STILT: Presumably two pair remain near Bellevue in the
pond along the east side of TR 80 in Seneca County, just south of
Seneca County Line Road (CR 113). The last definite report was of one
pair on the 10th. Nesting is underway.

American Avocet: The previously reported bird from the impoundment near
the pumphouse at Pickerel Creek Wildlife Area was seen on the 8th but
missed on the 10th. Bob Krajeski found one at Conneaut on the 9th.

Willet: Ray Hannikman spotted one on the beach at Headlands Beach State
Park on the 5th. On the 9th Bob Krajeski found one at Conneaut.

Upland Sandpiper: Eight were reported from Mansfield Municipal Airport
(Richland County) on the 4th.

Whimbrel: Greg Links saw one fly over Maumee Bay State Park and
apparently land at Mallard Club Marsh Wildlife Area on the 4th.

LEAST TERN: Kevin Kline, while birding by bicycle on the 4th, found one
on the north side of Wilderness Road at Funk Bottoms Wildlife Area.
Although others saw it later in the day, the bird has not been seen
subsequently.

Clay-colored Sparrow: A pair was reported on the 6th from Oak Openings
Metropark (Lucas County) from the sand barrens along the east side of
Girdham Road south of Monclova Road. Another pair was at Charlemont
Reservation (Lorain Co.) along Quarry Road on the 8th. Other individuals
are in the Walnut Creek (Holmes County) area. Call the Bobolink RBA for
more information (330)763-5119.

Yellow-headed Blackbird: One was enumerated on the monthly census of
the Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge on the 6th.
