Some of you may remember that I posted on the listserv a month or so ago
about an Eastern Screech Owl that fell out of the tree while my daughter and
I were on a bike ride. I took the owl to the Lake Erie Nature and Science
Center in Bay Village. It had an injured wing and a detached retina. Rehab
went well, but the final diagnosis is that the eye is permanently damaged
and the option of release has been eliminated. Now, the options for the
future of this little fella are donation to a licensed facility, or to
euthanize. I have been told that the Science Center is currently looking
for a recipient facility, but they are unsure if one will be found. I asked
them to let me know before any decision to put him down is made. I thought
I'd send an email to the listserv to see if anyone has any suggestions or
contacts that they could pass on to me as far as a State and Federally
Licensed facility that can accept this bird. ANY suggestions that you can
pass on would be greatly appreciated. All of my contact information is
below. Feel free to contact me whatever way you can. Thanks in advance.

Spencer
