This evening I visited the farm where friends reported Bald Eagles earlier this week. After waiting for awhile with no eagles appearing, I left to look at cell tower where they said a bird had been bringing sticks. The sticks now constitute a nest, and there were TWO ospreys sitting on the tower! When I went back to tell my friends what their mystery bird was, an adult bald eagle flew in and landed in a dead tree about 250 yards away, joining another adult eagle that was already in the tree.
The farm with the eagles and the farm with the cell tower/osprey nest is near SVWA and Caesarcreek Lake, but the owners don't want me to put the exact location on the listserv. The eagles have been coming for about a week, and did the same thing for multiple weeks in August last year.
