I was in downtown Columbus this morning at the site of the newest Columbus Metro Park and the Grange Insurance Audubon Center. They were doing a film to show the reclamation of this former brownfield and needed some birders for part of the film. As I got out my scope "to look the part", I took a look down the Scioto and was surprised to find 2 American Avocets! They remained during the shoot and were joined by a couple of Caspian Terns and Lesser Yellowlegs, along with Killdeer, Kingfisher, Cormorants and 2 Great Egrets. Nice start to the day!
