I stopped at Conneaut Harbor this morning and it was pretty good, although
briefly. There was a nice variety of shorebirds including 1 marbled godwit,
2 whimbrels, and a stilt sandpiper. Unfortunately some idiot pulled up
minutes after I arrived and let his two dogs run loose. they ran straight
after the whimbrels which took off and the last I saw them they were heading
west over the breakwall. The stilt sandpiper and a few other birds also
left. the godwit stayed, it just went to the far corner of the wet area.

Unless you have thick skin, don't go to Conneaut on weekends. It seems the
mudflats are being used by people that can't do what they are doing at the
public beach. There were people drinking, smoking pot, and letting dogs run
loose. It's not a fun place to be. Unless I'm out that way for something
else or I can go during the week, I won't go back until later in the season.
I thought they were going to do something?

Here is a list of what was there:

Semipalmated plover 3
Killdeer 4
Spotted sandpiper 1
WHIMBREL 2
MARBLED GODWIT 1
semipalmated sandpiper 6
Least sandpiper 2
STILT SANDPIPER 1
Short-billed dowitcher 1
