Greetings Bob & Ohio list - 
> Spotted what I believe is a Marbled Godwit at Glacier Ridge Metro Park this> evening. Can someone please confirm (see link below)? Is this a rare bird> for Ohio?
Thanks to Bob's magnificent photo of this stunning creature, YES, this massive shorebird is clearly identified as a Marbled Godwit. This species is considered rare in Ohio, with only a handful of reports turning up each year, mostly in summer and fall. Recently (past weeks), singles and couples of Marbled Godwits have occurred at Conneaut, Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge, and currently Glacier Ridge. This classic prairie-pothole species easily outsizes Blue-winged Teal...making it a "large duck-sized shorebird with a honking pink & black bill". In flight this buff & cinnamon king of shorebirds is magnficent. Bob has clearly nailed the ID and has provided a wonderful photo for documentation. Very cool.
