Observers: Paula Lozano & Bob Finkelstein
The shorebirds and estimated numbers mentioned in recent posts by Kenn and
Jen were still here this afternoon, including the Wilson's Phalarope and 4
Black-bellied Plovers. In addition, 6 juvenile Black Terns were observed on the
ground and in the air. A juvenile banded Peregrine Falcon was sitting on the
railroad tracks west of the road. (A green band on the left leg is visible in
a picture I took by holding a camera up to my scope.) Other birders reported
a Buff-breasted Sandpiper north of the tracks, but we didn't find it.
