The Darke County Birders held a premeeting walk on Tues. evening at Chestnut Street Marsh at Shawnee Prairie which is just at the west side of Greenville.
The Darke County Parks have cut down a lot of the cottonwood trees that were starting to fill up the edges of the marsh and the marsh has mud flats visible from veiwing platforms.
Birds sighted were:
Ca nada geese x
Mallards x
Great Blue Heron 2
Great Egret 1
Green Heron 1
Cooper's Hawk 1
Killdeer x
Solitary Sandpipers 6
Rock Pigeon 1
mo doves x
downy 1
flicker 2
Bluejay x
C. chickadee 1
Robins x
Starlings x
Cardinal 1
Grackle x
House Finch 3
Goldfinch x
house sparrows x
