Adding to Jay's remarks about Ohio birders being respectful of birds, other
birders, and property, it's nice to see that people have resisted the
temptation to go tromping off into the fields in the flooded area on TR 292
near Bellevue.

The landowners there have been friendly and have not objected to hordes of
birders parking on the side of the road and strolling around the area. (The
landowner, by the way, is a township trustee and could potentially make life
difficult for birders up there were he so inclined -- but he has been quite
gracious.) For their part, birders have been friendly, have stayed out of
the way of passing vehicles since the road has become passable, and most
importantly have stayed out of even the dry parts of the fields.

Having now spoken with area residents on a few occasions, I think they have
become at least somewhat interested in birds and birders and certainly
tolerant of our eccentricities. That's good news for all of us!
