SPECIES IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS ARE REVIEW-LIST SPECIES. Details of
these sightings are desired by The Ohio Bird Records Committee. Careful
observation, not ornithological expertise, is the only qualification
for submitting your data. For details and pointers see:
http://www.ohiobirds.org/records/documentation.php

American White Pelican: Usually not a difficult bird to see in Ohio,
they have been scarce this year. On the 30th Doug Overacker reported a
rare July sighting of an individual at Buck Creek State Park and the
adjacent Old Reid Park in Clark County. The bird apparently has been
resident for some time.

Yellow-crowned Night-Heron: John Pogacnik reported one from private
land in Painesville Township, Lake County, on the 29th. Bill Whan
reported that two adults were lingering at their Preston Road,
Columbus, nest site as of the 26th. He suggested this may reflect an
attempted second nesting.

BLACK-NECKED STILT: Four adults continue at the ponds at the railroad
tracks on TR 292 (Riddle Road) in Sandusky County about three miles
west of Bellevue. (TR 292 is a continuation of Seneca CR 81).

American Avocet: One was with the stilts at the above location on the
27th. It was not relocated on the 28th.

Willet: One flew over a Cleveland Metroparks outing at the Lorain
Harbor impoundment on the 26th.

Marbled Godwit: Bob Krajeski found one on the sandbar at Conneaut
Harbor on the 29th.

Selasphorus sp. Hummingbird: Tom Kemp reported that a female-type
Rufous/Allen's hummingbird briefly visited his feeders at 1507 Napoleon
Road, just west of Campbell Hill Road, in Bowling Green on the 30th and
31st. Birders are welcome, but the bird does not seem to be a regular
visitor yet.

Clay-colored Sparrow: As of the 27th, one was still present at Oak
Openings Metropark (Lucas County) at the sand barrens along Girdham
Road south of Monclova Road.
