I watched a flock of about 18 nighthawks about 5:50pm in Powell east of
Sawmill Parkway and between Seldom Seen and Powell Rd. They were flying in
a south-eastern direction and went from fairly low over The Woods of Big
Bear condos to high rather quickly almost in a kettle formation. I had a
friend over and had fun explaining about nighthawks to him who was a very
new bird watcher.

Subject: [Ohio-birds] Common Nighthwaks-Highbanks Metro Park

Hello!

Over the course of about 15 minutes starting at approximately 6:40 PM this
evening, I observed four different waves of Nighthawks over the Nature
Center
parking lot at Highbanks totaling just over 100 birds. The birds all were
moving in a southerly direction parallel to U.S. Rte. 23 (High St.). The
largest wave contained about 70 birds. It would be interesting to see if
anyone
in the Worthington, Clintonville, or other points south of Columbus
observed
the same flocks.
